Recent geopolitical shifts and security concerns have prompted a reevaluation of the need for a European Army. Notably, significant voices in U.S. government circles now express that the United States can no longer be primarily focused on Europe's security. This shift, ironically, calls attention to the notion that some of the strongest proponents of a unified European military—historically, the U.S.—are changing their stance on the issue.
