This characteristic of geothermal resources implies that deeper drilling could yield supercritical steam—steam that, when heated to roughly 374 degrees Celsius and pressurized, can enhance energy extraction and efficiency. Unfortunately, current drilling methods make it prohibitively costly to reach these depths, significantly hindering geothermal energy production.
