As Europe braces for increased military expenditure, Sweden stands to benefit significantly from this trend. Historically, Sweden has maintained a policy of non-alignment and neutrality but remains one of the largest arms exporters globally. Notably, following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Sweden shifted its defense policy, committing to NATO and increasing its defense spending to 2.2% of GDP—surpassing the current NATO target. Plans are set to raise this further to 2.4% in the near term.
