Part 1/8:
The Shifting Landscape of Central Bank Reserves: Gold and Bitcoin on the Rise
The strategic choices of central banks regarding reserve assets have been a robust pivot throughout history, especially since the aftermath of World War II. Initially, central banks allocated over 70% of their assets to gold. However, this figure has dramatically decreased to just under 10% by 2010. Recently, a reversal of this trend is occurring as central banks globally ramp up their gold purchases, and some are even entertaining the idea of including Bitcoin in their reserves. The implications of this shift could lead to significant changes in the valuation of both gold and Bitcoin, as well as challenge the economic power of the United States.
