The Tibetan Tunu Winter Road, listed on many websites as the world's longest icy winter road, is used by heavy trucks for about 85% of the route. Drivers pass over frozen lakes and travel between 400 and 600 kilometers, with Nuna Logistics and Arctic Logistics responsible for preparing the road for winter. The ice is so hard that empty heavy vehicles can drive on it at 60 km/h, but if they're loaded, they're advised to maintain a speed of 25 km/h.
