Upon arriving at Augustine's friend Antonia's house, it becomes clear that Augustine is in distress. Antonia immediately senses the danger that accompanies Augustine's injuries and refrains from exposing her son, who requires surgery, to any potential threats posed by the attackers. During this period, Paro becomes intrigued by Augustine's silent prayer in church, where he wished for peace and a life free of fear.
Upon returning home, Paro undergoes a grim act of introspection—he loads a single bullet into his revolver and points it at his own head, a ritual that symbolizes his struggle with his past and his quest for redemption. Surviving the test signifies that he still has a purpose to fulfill.
