Dodge finds himself in a cycle of mundane existence amidst the chaos. With each day that passes, he rises to the familiar rhythms of his life, visiting the gym and attending a barely populated office. The media floods with updates of city's worsening conditions, threats of power outages, and ceaseless calls from anxious clients. As his colleagues dwindle, promotions become irrelevant; no one is left to claim them.
Upon returning home one day, Dodge notices his neighbor Penny fleeing a fight with her boyfriend Owen. All he seeks is peace, but what he finds instead is Elsa, his cleaner. Dodge's attempt to release her from duty backfires, leaving him feeling trapped in this routine continuity of life while everyone around him seems to seek desperation in the face of inevitability.
