Silas, a member of this society, follows the drudgery of routine: awakening to a bed that makes itself, consuming insipid meals, and commuting silently to work as an illustrator. His role involves drawing on a screen, and though his art differs starkly from the bleak reality around him, it is largely inspired by documentaries focusing on a tumultuous past known as "The Great War."
Even during the limited interaction allowed in project meetings or lunchtime, conversations among coworkers remain painfully dull, focusing on trivial facts rather than personal experiences. Silas finds himself captivated by Nia, a fellow employee, yet feels compelled to suppress this burgeoning interest.
