Part 2/9:
Two decades later, we meet Monkey D. Luffy, a young boy with aspirations to find the One Piece and become the King of the Pirates. Stranded in a small dinghy that quickly sinks, Luffy's determination leads him to escape in a barrel, which eventually lands him amidst a naval battle involving the Alvida Pirates. Captured and brought aboard, Luffy demonstrates his innate charm and kindness, surprising the cabin boy Koby, who dreams of becoming a Marine.
Through an enthusiastic exchange, Luffy’s backstory unfolds; he shares his inspiration from Shanks and the Red Haired Pirates, as well as the incident that resulted in his rubber-like body from eating a Devil Fruit. The pirate life is juxtaposed with Luffy's innocence, showing a softer side to his character.
