Transitioning from Longtrellis, we glimpse the Kingdom of Strongcliff, characterized by a lewd King who seeks pleasure over companionship. This segment provides a stark contrast to the previous narrative, with the courts enveloped in frivolity until his obsession with a beautiful, yet introverted peasant woman, Dora, takes center stage. The effort Dora puts forth to conceal her appearance leads to a radical transformation through magical intervention, thus becoming the new Queen. Tragedy follows her sister, Imma, who distorts her body in a desperate attempt to share in Dora’s beauty, resulting in horror rather than acceptance.
