The second half saw Hamza Igman extend Rangers' lead further, before N managed to pull one back with a stunning free kick. While Rangers' performance was largely commendable, there were elements of wastefulness in front of goal showcased by missed opportunities. Nonetheless, the result provided a much-needed boost to their chances of advancing to the knockout stages.
Chris Boyd, providing analysis of the match, noted that while N’s defense was poor, Rangers’ performance was impressive enough to warrant credit. Manager Philippe Clement has clearly done well in Europe, but Boyd suggested the team must translate this away form into their domestic league performance.
