This incident results in a night in jail and a court appearance, where he learns that he must complete community service instead of serving time in jail. Marco is assigned to coach a basketball team made up of players with intellectual disabilities, a task he initially meets with disdain.

Meeting the coaching staff and players at the community center brings further challenges for Marco. He is introduced to an eclectic group that struggles with teamwork and basic basketball skills.
