The narrative shifts into a flashback to the morning of the incident. Luke Seacord, a member of the group of friends, discovers a dead woman handcuffed to the bed in the loft he shares with Vincent and his friends: Dr. Chris Vanowen, Marty Landry, and Philip Williams. Panic ensues as they realize that only one of them could be responsible for the grim scene. As Vincent arrives, he insists that Luke shouldn't call the police until all five of them are present. This adds layers of tension among the group, as each friend grapples with their collective guilt and suspicion.
