Despite her injuries, Lynn’s relationship with her mother is highlighted when she visits her later. Her mother displays deep concern, but an undercurrent of tension is palpable as Lynn grapples with her feelings. The semester ends, and while Young prepares for winter training, he struggles with his feelings for Lynn, advised by friends to confess his affection. The situation becomes more complicated when it is revealed that Lynn is staying back in the city and plans to spend time with Jon, igniting jealousy within Young.
