On the first day of classes, John creates ripples of excitement among the students, particularly the girls. However, a small mishap occurs when John accidentally spills coffee on a sleeping classmate, only to be met with indifference. This encounter illustrates a deeper truth; the emotional void certain individuals feel—exemplified by this “robot-like” student who rejects John's kindness.
Meanwhile, in the girls' dormitory, expectations run high as roommates anticipate the arrival of their new housemate. When Shia enters with just one bag, Jen’s curiosity gets the better of her, prompting her to underestimate the physical burden of her new roommate's numerous possessions, which prove cumbersome to carry.
