As the days stretch into months, Lee is engulfed by the overwhelming silence of space. He tries to maintain a routine—exercise, reading, and music—but his efforts are punctuated by increasing anxiety and despair. He discovers that Earth is experiencing a catastrophic downfall, and as lights begin to extinguish around the globe, so does his hope. Moments of hallucination begin to occur as he isolates himself further, talking to photographs of former astronauts, particularly a captivating female figure.
