The theme of control resonates throughout the film as June imposes strict rituals on her sons to protect them from the supposed evil. She believes that purging them of fear through confinement and mantras is the only path to safety. However, as the seasons change and winter descends, their supplies grow scarce, and her grip begins to loosen as desperation sets in. The twins, longing for normalcy and adventure, grow increasingly rebellious against their mother’s ironclad rule.
