Part 3/7:
As they move to Moonacre Manor, Maria and Heliotrope encounter various challenges. They narrowly escape an attempted abduction by bandits, including the boy from the funeral, and are met with a cold welcome by Maria's Uncle Benjamin. An imposing figure, Benjamin shows little interest in Maria's concerns, dismissing her father's legacy and leaving her feeling isolated and misunderstood.
The ensuing days are filled with strange occurrences. Maria finds a self-playing piano and discovers a bond with the magical Chef Marmaduke. As she explores this enchanted manor, she learns about the curse plaguing Moonacre Valley — tied to the Moon Princess's story and the destructive greed of both clans, a result of the moon pearls.
