The story takes another dark turn on Tomi's 18th birthday when an uncanny figure resembling her returns unexpectedly. The family, overwhelmed with joy, welcomes Tomi back into their lives, but Sukiko feels an unsettling dissonance. Her father’s strange behavior, her mother’s mysterious actions of burning Sukiko’s photographs, and Tomi's increasingly bizarre demeanor create a suffocating atmosphere tinged with eeriness.
