Part 7/9:
The Climax of Confusion
When Isabella and Josh announce their impending marriage, Natalie faces emotional turmoil. At the same time, Blake’s true character is revealed when he attempts to appropriate her design ideas, leading her to reconsider her feelings towards him and the potential life she would have if they were together.
A Cliché Resolution and Self-Discovery
Despite the cliches of the genre, Natalie concludes that to escape the romantic comedy trap she’s entangled in, she must foster self-love. Her journey culminates at a wedding, where she bravely interrupts to assert her worth. And as she begins to realize that her happiness stems from loving herself first, the narrative cleverly critiques and deconstructs the very romantic formulas it employs.
