Part 3/9:
The initial encounter with Officer Lasky showcases the blatant racism ingrained in society. He taunts Dorian for being Black and questions their integrity, asking inflammatory questions about weapons. Despite Dorian's attempts to stand up for himself and his mother, the officer's hostility remains persistent. In a twist of fate, each time Nina rewinds time, they find themselves back at the diner, only to face the officer’s aggression once again.
Every loop reveals a deeper layer to the systemic racism that Nina and Dorian face on what should have been a day filled with promise and excitement. These encounters highlight the struggles that people of color endure, portraying an unjust world filled with intimidation and threats.
