As Wukong's journey progresses, family dynamics come to the forefront. His brother Liu, appearing as a voice of reason, warns Wukong against repeating past mistakes. Liu's intervention—knocking Wukong out cold—reflects the tension between familial loyalty and individual ambition. Yet, Wukong remains steadfast in his desire to liberate the oppressed and ultimately forge a path back to the Heavenly Palace, where he can address Tai Z's tyranny directly.
