The relegation battle is becoming an untenable reality for Manchester United. With statistics indicating that only four teams have been relegated while sitting 14th at the turn of the year, the history books suggest it is possible, albeit unlikely, that United could find themselves in such dire straits. Historically, 28 out of 32 teams that have occupied the 14th position at this stage have managed to avoid relegation, which is a silver lining for the beleaguered club.
There, however, remains an undeniable shadow of uncertainty cast upon the squad as they continue to struggle for form. They are currently performing at relegation-worthy levels, with only newly promoted teams averaging fewer points under Amarin's leadership.
