Part 3/7:
Fast forward to present day, we meet Alex—a shy, 13-year-old boy of Mexican descent living in the United States. He is frequently bullied at school and feels disconnected from his roots, especially after losing his father at a young age. Upon receiving news of his grandfather in Mexico, Alex is reluctantly pushed by his mother to visit.
Upon arrival, his grandfather, Chava, welcomes him with open arms, though the generational divide is palpable as Alex prefers his video games over familial connections. As Alex spends time on Chava’s farm, he meets his cousins, Memo and Luna. They quickly bond but soon find themselves embroiled in the legend of the chupacabra.
