As if answering her wish, the doorbell rings, stirring hope within Hazel. However, instead of reuniting with her brother, she meets her quirky neighbors, Cosmo and Wanda, who introduce themselves as Angela and Marcus. Angela, she learns, is a therapist and writer, while Marcus claims to be a teacher and investigator of paranormal phenomena. Hazel's suspicions about their eccentricities grow when she witnesses Wanda wielding a magic wand. Realizing that their secret could be compromised, Cosmo and Wanda promptly decide to escape the spotlight.
