Part 4/7:

In Niederdorf, a small town in the mountains, time felt suspended as the hostages were left in limbo, waiting while their captors grappled with the rising chaos. As the German SS leadership fled to the Alps, confusion brewed among their ranks, growing discord and breakdowns in communication made the situation increasingly dangerous for the hostages.

Desiring to keep spirits alive, entertainer Isa Vermehren attempted to lighten the atmosphere with music, but the gravity of their circumstances permeated the air. Amid their uncertainty, the hostages felt a budding resolve to seize their chance for escape. Under Colonel von Bonin's leadership, they determined to leave the buses and march into town, proactively claiming their identities to ensure their safety.
