Fey’s narrative reveals the mounting tension as her situation merges with those of other prisoners, including British pilots captured during the war.
Their confinement in Dachau Concentration Camp introduces them to many ‘special prisoners,’ renowned figures who have also fallen afoul of Hitler’s regime. Their hope for survival is palpable, yet the threat of being executed due to their prominence looms large.
