Despite the seeming tranquility of the environment, approximately 2,000 minor earthquakes occur each year, coupled with noticeable ground elevations that serve as reminders that this supervolcano is not entirely dormant. The last notable seismic event took place in 2014, marking the largest quake in three decades, yet luckily, it caused minimal damage.
