Upon finally reaching the Kuyuwini, the journey becomes a collective effort where all supplies are loaded onto small boats in preparation for the journey ahead. They anticipate a four-day venture to the village of Masakenari, the final settlement on the river.
Arrival in Masakenari
Dawn breaks on the Essequibo with the promise of adventure ahead. The team eagerly discusses their distance to Masakenari, measuring their progress as they navigate the smooth waters which promise a respite from the challenges faced earlier. However, they remain on alert to the strange and wonderful wildlife along the banks.
