Part 4/10:
In 2009, an expedition was commissioned by the state of Schleswig-Holstein to investigate a mysterious wooden structure discovered beneath the waters of Kiel Bay. German and Swedish archaeologists began the painstaking task of uncovering the vessel believed to be linked to the elusive Hedvig Sophia. The hope was to not only identify the ship’s remains but also to resurrect the stories and confrontations that had transpired centuries earlier.
As the team prepared for their underwater exploration, scientists expressed their excitement. This could be the pivotal moment that would allow them to connect a now-derelict ship to its illustrious past. Led by Martin Segschneider and seasoned wreck diver Rolf Lorenz, the team delved into the cold waters, armed with expertise and anticipation.
