Witnesses observed unsettling scenes as multiple engines failed mere minutes into the flight. This tragic loss of engine performance resulted in the rocket spinning uncontrollably. A March 6th statement from SpaceX indicated that prior to the failure, an “energetic event” occurred in the aft section of Starship. This event caused several of the Raptor engines to stop working, disrupting the vehicle's attitude control and leading to a catastrophic loss of communication.
