Part 3/5:
Reflections on Body Image and Comfort
Having made the decision to undergo breast reduction years ago, Barrymore has reflected on the positive impact it had on her life. In an interview with the New York Daily News six years post-procedure, she said, “I really love my body and the way it is right now.” Her remarks touch on a broader societal issue regarding women's comfort and self-image related to their bodies, particularly breasts, which often attract unwarranted attention from men.
She candidly expressed some of the struggles associated with having larger breasts, stating, “When they’re huge, you become very self-conscious, your back hurts, you find that whatever you wear, you look heavy in; it’s uncomfortable.”
