As the witness recounted, both he and Konan faced considerable challenges in the turbulent water. He noted the warnings placed along the beach about strong currents and high waves, which had been ignored that night. Despite being a certified lifeguard, he found himself overwhelmed by the force of the waves and repeatedly tried to revive Konan as they struggled against the water.
Once they reached the beach, he witnessed Konan attempting to gather her belongings, unaware of the perilous situation they had narrowly escaped. However, in a disorienting turn of events, as he began to feel the effects of exhaustion—resulting from swallowing large amounts of seawater—he lost track of her.
