Stranded Astronauts Welcome their Replacements
Butch and Sunny, who had been living aboard the ISS for over nine months, were especially delighted to greet the new arrivals. Their mission, which was initially planned to last only a week following the launch of Boeing's first astronaut flight last June, was unexpectedly extended due to complications that left them unable to return when initially scheduled. The issues with the Boeing Starliner resulted in it being brought back to Earth empty, causing a significant delay in their homecoming.
