Despite the frigid temperatures outside, Camp Century was equipped with essential amenities, including a nuclear reactor for heat and light. The dimly lit isolation and the men’s camaraderie provided a unique albeit tough living experience characterized by a strict regimen of military duties, some thrilling moments of camaraderie, and numerous psychological studies to assess the adaptability of personnel living in such extreme conditions.
