Part 3/10:
One of the unique efforts in studying this ecological wonder comes from the collaboration of mechanic Andrew Thompson and researcher Peter Byrne from the University of Queensland. Through innovative use of cranes, they have been able to explore the towering heights of the rainforest. This method provides access to areas previously difficult to study and lets researchers assess the condition of the forest from multiple elevations. By identifying and mapping the trees in their study area, they can observe and monitor variances in growth, flowering patterns, and overall health of the ecosystem.
