In 2011, a coalition of countries, including Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Angola, committed to creating a vast cross-border conservation area called KaZa. This ambitious project aims to unify fragmented habitats, ensuring that elephants have more space to roam free while minimizing the frequency of human-elephant interactions.
