The aggressive implementation of censorship and propaganda gave rise to a troubling legacy of manipulation as some cinematic works achieved international acclaim; however, these victories came with the refrain of a deteriorating societal structure. Conversely, the House of German Art and other Nazi cultural institutions fell into obscurity and ridicule post-war, with artists suppressing their creativity or fleeing from persecution.
By the end of World War II, the Nazi vision for a culturally homogenous society disintegrated. Many artworks remained missing in the aftermath, lost to history or held in private collections as stolen treasures. The structural remnants of Nazi architecture endure, yet the ideological frameworks they supported have been extensively challenged and discredited.
