Part 3/8:

When March arrives, the gradual warmth breathes life back into the forest. Ponds fill with melting snow, and the industrious beaver reintroduces itself to the landscape with diligent building of dams—creating habitats that foster further biodiversity. The early spring flowers, such as liverwort and wood anemones, rush to claim sunlight before the dense tree canopy dominates the landscape, highlighting the cycle of life that adapts to the changing seasons.

With life returning, we catch glimpses of the formerly extinct wildcat, now cautiously roaming the forest, seeking security against the threats of larger predators like the lynx. Their reintroduction signifies conservation successes as Bavaria takes measures to protect its natural inhabitants.
