Neanderthals were incredibly adept at survival; they boasted superior physique and innovative tools, relying on thrusting spears to hunt. In contrast, modern humans favored throwing spears that allowed them to strike from a distance. Interestingly, investigations into these hunting techniques reveal that while modern humans were effective in their own way, Neanderthals had the strength advantage with their direct attacks. Experiments suggested that thrusting spears caused considerably greater internal damage and could deliver lethal blows, raising questions about whether it was hunting techniques that led to their decline.
