Part 2/9:
The story opens with a visual representation of life in 1941, where Jewish workers are seen toiling under the oppressive gaze of Nazi officers in a factory. The oppressive regime's cruelty is starkly illustrated by the grim actions of a German officer, who threatens to kill a Jewish worker simply for not meeting his pin-making quota. The worker's desperate attempts to explain his circumstances are futile as the officer, frustrated by the constant jamming of his weapon, resorts to violence instead. In this chilling display of human disdain, we are introduced to the world where the value of life had been grossly diminished.
