In his quest, he meets a captivating girl—Ying—alongside her boyfriend, Fong, who has recently returned from Europe. As Fong proposes modern advancements like a railway to the villagers, tensions rise amid mockery and resistance. Blue Chan's determination remains unwavering, despite repeated beatings for trespassing.
Encouragement comes from an elderly man who sees Blue Chan practicing technique independently. The man advises him to turn the villagers’ skills against them in combat. Motivated, Blue Chan successfully defeats a local tofu seller, showcasing the power of observation and practice—traits he has honed through perseverance.
