Part 2/8:
When the massive machine known as The Crusher unexpectedly breaks down, a guard named Kai is summoned to repair it. He manages to restore the machine, but peace is short-lived. The arrival of a new prisoner causes chaos; the other inmates rise up against their captors. Desperate times call for desperate measures, and a guard, overwhelmed by the sheer number of rebels, activates the crusher pit's controls. The situation escalates, and in a moment of extreme heroism, Kai cuts off his own leg to escape being dragged into the pit while managing to save the other prisoners. His sacrifice shows a strength of character that will influence the events to follow.
