Part 4/7:
Tragedy struck when King Prasutagus was ambushed and killed during a raid meant to appease the Romans. The queen, overwhelmed by grief and anger, was proclaimed the new leader of the tribe. However, Katus rejected her authority, leading to a humiliating punishment for the queen and her daughters. The town's refusal to recognize a female ruler set the stage for further conflict, as betrayal from within the tribe surfaced, resulting in horrific retribution against the queen.
A hidden plan revealed itself as Trovant warriors—loyal to the queen—rescue her from Roman captors. As she recuperated, the queen was faced with the realities of her people’s struggle for freedom. It was here that she embraced her identity as Boudica, the warrior queen destined to unite the tribes against the Romans.
