Curtis’s family, too, eventually invites Aya into their lives, drawn in by her promises of convenience. As both families navigate their own challenges, Aya quickly becomes an ally to the children, enhancing their chores with rewards and keeping them entertained. While Curtis and his wife, Meredith, initially welcome this change, Curtis’s uneasiness about Aya lingers. He fears they might be giving up control over their family life.
Despite the advantages Aya presents—such as alerts about car accidents on their daily route and help with mundane tasks—Curtis begins to experience strange occurrences, such as odd gestures from people outside their home and an unsettling connection between Aya and these unsavory figures.
