Jillian and her team, witnessing the enormous implications of The Void, debate sending astronauts beyond its threshold. The agency’s head of Mission Control, Charles, rejects the idea, lamenting the potential loss of more lives after the loss of Jim. Eventually, as strange dark spheres appear globally, a large-scale response becomes inevitable, leading to a groundbreaking plan: a humanoid robotic vessel infused with human consciousness—aptly named "Human 2.0."
