The couple, who were married in 2000 and share two children, Ella and Quinland, had influenced each other's lives for nearly two decades before their split. For Stiller, witnessing the enduring romance and collaborative spirit between his late parents played a significant role in his desire to work on their relationship. He commented, “Probably a certain amount of that is having watched my parents, and I love Christine, I love my family, and I was not ready to just go okay enough of this.”
His love for family and the joy of spending time with Taylor led him to cherish the notion of reconciliation. “I also really love hanging out with my family and Christine and having fun together,” he said. “So I'm happy that I didn't totally miss the boat on that.”
