Part 5/10:
As they set out on their clandestine adventure, Norton grapples with guilt. Irma's stories about Earth, particularly her longing to visit the cabin her grandmother cherished by Elk River Falls, amplify the weight of their deceit. Although Norton echoes Irma's dreams of connection through her memories, he's also reminded of his unresolved feelings about his own aspirations with Barbara—a stark contrast to the joy Irma seeks in reconnecting with her history.
As their journey progresses, the android RB29 uncovers the lack of transparency surrounding Irma's trip and the failure to disclose her deteriorating health. Torn between their financial greed and moral responsibility, Norton becomes further conflicted when he finds himself sympathetic to Irma’s longing dreams.
