Part 2/8:
In 2006, the Hades was initiated as Nigeria's first music awards show organized to international standards. It was designed to fill a gap where no existing platform recognized contemporary music and its talented artists. The show's founders recognized the need to bring a new dimension of appreciation to the vibrant African music scene by honoring the industry’s most creative talents.
The inaugural event took place on March 10, 2006, at the Muson Center in Lagos, themed "The Revolution is Here." It set the tone for what would become a monumental celebration of creativity. The founders aspired to create an institution that would not only spotlight high-quality music but also encourage young, up-and-coming artists, making it a sort of "Grammy" for new talent.
