As the scenes begin, we witness the mother, Susan, attempting to convince her daughter, Ashley, to accompany her on a short trip to visit their family ranch. Ashley, however, seems entangled in her professional commitments back in New York, expressing hesitations about leaving her responsibilities behind. Susan empathizes with Ashley’s busy life but insists that visiting the family ranch is crucial, arguing that the trip could provide much-needed respite for her soul.
